Project Handed Over – SUH ICU Extension
Kilcawley Construction are delighted to have handed over the new Intensive Care Unit Extension at Sligo University Hospital to the HSE.
The works consisted of a steel frame building with built up cladding system constructed at the 8th floor roof level of the existing hospital.
The works included the construction of 4Nr. positively pressurised HTM compliant isolation rooms, extensive refurbishment works to the existing ICU and electrical and communication tie-in works with routes requiring works across all 8 floors of the live hospital.
Working in and around extremely sensitive medical treatment areas constructing a roof level extension adjacent the existing Intensive Care Unit and over a live Paediatric Department meant a highly challenging project for all involved.
