We’re delighted to have recently handover this new substation building to our valued Client ESB on their existing substation site in Ballybane, Galway City.
The development consisted of the construction of a new twelve bay 110kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) building located entirely within the southern portion of the existing Galway 110kV Substation. The 700m2 steel framed GIS building will soon become a vital part of Galway’s electrical backbone infrastructure. The scope of works also included building fit out and finishes, insulated cladding panels with bespoke feature fins, HPL feature cladding, the construction of a new 3m high stone clad boundary wall as well as all associated drainage and site works.
A high risk site with medium and high voltage underground and overhead electrical services located throughout the project was delivered with an exceptional safety record and was completed without a single reportable incident or injury.
