Covid-19 Policy
It is the policy of Kilcawley Construction to conduct our business in accordance with current COVID-19 government guidelines and protocols.
All necessary steps will be taken by the business to ensure the risk of contracting COVID-19 at any place of work under our control is reduced through the introduction of reasonably practicable control measures based on risk assessments carried out in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
The company coronavirus (COVID-19) policy is susceptible to change as updates to government COVID – 19 guidelines and protocols are introduced. The Business is committed to amending all relevant company documentation and operational procedures in line with these updates and to providing briefings and training (where required) on the amendments to company employees.
Kilcawley Construction takes all reasonable measures to:
- Ensure that all applicable legal requirements are identified and adopted.
- Ensure that at all levels, training and appropriate information regarding COVID-19 is provided so that people are competent and conscious of required measures to be taken.
- Establish and implement Safe Operating Procedures for sites and offices.
- Ensure all Construction Stage Health and Safety Plans for specific Projects are updated to take account of the introduction of the new risk that is COVID-19
- Actively consult with employees and promote their involvement and participation in the implementation of control measures surrounding COVID-19
- The Management of Kilcawley Construction is committed to ensuring the provision of the necessary requirements to maintain hygiene standards in line with current Government guidelines within communal and general workspace environments
- Ensure reasonably practicable measures are implemented to avoid risk to Kilcawley Construction employees, customers, external providers, contractors, the general public and all others who may be required to interact with the Company during this crisis period
- The Management of Kilcawley Construction recognises that it is their duty to provide systems of work which are planned, organised, performed and maintained, so as to reduce, so far as is reasonably practicable the risk of contracting COVID-19 at any of our workplaces
- Kilcawley Construction commit to allocate adequate resources to manage the risk of COVID-19 for as long as is required
Kilcawley Construction actively consults with employees and promotes employee involvement and participation in order to develop a positive occupational health and safety culture which reflects Company values, and to continuously improve Company performance in areas of Occupational Health and Safety.
The management of the additional risk of contracting COVID-19 is dealt with through this same principle.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy
It is the policy of Kilcawley Construction is to conduct our business to the best industry standards. We operate our business through compliance with all relevant legislation.
Our responsibilities extend well beyond the delivery of projects for Clients, above all we understand the value of a true two-way contract with all our people, where there is full understanding of expectations and rewards, this is the foundation of a sustainable business.
We meet our responsibilities through compliance with relevant legislation, applying appropriate national standards and establishing management control systems throughout Kilcawley Construction operations and contacts with third parties.
Company personnel, suppliers and subcontractors are responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy:

Health and Safety Policy
It is the policy of Kilcawley Construction to carry out our work in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 and 2013, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007; and all relevant EU Directives.
Kilcawley Construction is committed to managing Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality matters as an integral part of our business. In particular, it is our policy to ensure the integrity of our process and facilities at all times and across all project locations.
We are committed to achieving and maintaining the standards of Occupational Health and Safety stated in this policy and aim to continually improve our health and safety performance by taking a pro-active approach and include the management of occupational health and safety as an integral part of managing a successful business
Kilcawley Construction takes all reasonable measures to:
- Ensure that all applicable legal requirements are identified and adopted.
- Ensure that at all levels, training and appropriate information on Occupational Health and Safety is provided so that people are competent and safety conscious.
- Establish and implement Safety Measurement Procedures.
- Operate an Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with the requirements of Safe-T-Cert and ISO 45001:2018 and provide the necessary resources to implement these systems.
- Define the responsibilities and authorities for Managers and Supervisors with particular reference to Occupational Health and Safety performance.
- Actively consult with employees and promote their involvement and participation in order to develop a positive Health and Safety culture which reflects Company values, OH&S requirements and to continuously improve Company performance in its OH&S Management System.
- The Management of Kilcawley Construction is committed to ensuring the design, the provision and maintenance of their plant/equipment in a condition that is, in so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health.
- Ensure reasonably practicable measures are implemented to avoid risk to Kilcawley Construction employees, customers, external providers, contractors, general public and all others who may be affected by our work are adopted.
- The Management of Kilcawley Construction recognises that it is their duty to provide systems of work which are planned, organised, performed and maintained, so as to be as far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health.
- Kilcawley Construction aims to provide workplaces free from recognised hazards and to promote healthy lifestyles.
Kilcawley Construction actively consult with employees and promote their involvement and participation in order to develop a positive occupational health and safety culture which reflects Company values, and to continuously improve Company performance in areas of Occupational Health and Safety.
Quality Policy
It is It is the policy of Kilcawley Construction to operate a Quality System that meets our Customers specifications and any applicable statutory regulations that are required from initial negotiation to contract hand over.
To achieve this overall policy, a cost-effective quality system has been implemented. All employees are directly responsible for the quality of their own work.
The Management within the company fully endorse the stated policy and controls, and are dedicated to ensure that the quality management system is continuously monitored and up-dated as necessary. It focuses on continuous improvement, involves all employees and promotes an environment of mutual respect and trust.
The Quality System and its objectives are reviewed annually by means of Management Review. Commitment to Quality is ensured by means of Quality Objectives. These objectives are communicated and maintained at all levels within the organisation.
The objectives of the Quality Management System are as follows:
- To provide potential and existing customers with all relevant information relating to the Company and to demonstrate the Company’s commitment to continuous improvement of Customer Quality and Services
- To educate and ensure employee competence on matters relating to the attainment and improvement of the Quality Management System
iii. To continually comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, review quality and business objectives, risks and opportunities and QMS effectiveness to continuously improve Products and Services.
- To provide a building of the highest quality to the satisfaction of the client in the most efficient manner at the most economical price.
The above policy is communicated and explained to all employees through our comprehensive training programme.
Environmental Policy
Kilcawley Construction are committed to sound environmental performance by controlling the impacts that our activities have on the environment in accordance with good industry practice within the appropriate Legislative and Statutory Regulations.
Kilcawley Construction in line with its Safety and Quality Management Systems has integrated Environmental Systems into its operations by way of the following:
- Establish, document and maintain environmental procedures that meet the requirements of ISO 14001:2015.
- To consider and integrate the environment into each capital expenditure programme by assessing any impact a project may have on the environment prior to any approval
- To ensure Site Management Plans are compiled to and reviewed consistently.
- To ensure an effective environmental monitoring program is on-going at all our sites for continual EMS improvement and ensuring a programme of corrective and preventative measures is in place which is continually monitored
- To save energy by constantly reviewing and optimising all methods of operation
- To use water economically
- To prevent any accidental pollution of waterways and other environments by carrying out a programme of Environmental Risk Assessment.
- To inform promptly the relevant Government Agencies, company staff and members of the public in case of any incident that may create a risk
- To use the environment as a tool for dialogue with company staff with regard to policy, projects, training requirements and necessary awareness
- To ensure our suppliers and sub-contractors adopt practices consistent with our Environmental Policies
- To make available to the public this policy and post in all work locations.
Driven by Senior Management and representatives on site Kilcawley Construction achieves the above by:
- Controlling their operations
- Implementation of action programmes resulting from periodical environmental audits
- Control of potential emissions and nuisances and taking swift corrective action in case of any malfunction or accident
- Optimisation of the reprocessing and recycling of any by-product in order to reach a minimum level of waste
